Our Story

History of The Grande Victorian

Welcome to the Grande Victorian, a historical event venue! Built in 1884 this beautiful 12,000 square foot home sits on 6 acres in Monroe, North Carolina. The Grande Victorian, previously known as  "Victorian Crow’s Nest" was built in 1884 by Mrs. Fetnah Heath Crowe, fondly gave it its nickname “Victorian Crow’s Nest” as her children and grandchildren resided at the estate as well. When occupied by the Crowe family, it was known to be the place for many large events, inviting guests from all over! Their most popular being their eggnog parties during the holiday season! Our charming house is a great local example of the Queen Anne style! There is great attention to detail inside and out! Restored beautifully by its previous owners, Albert Espesito and Leroy Rushing, Shirley and Cofield Hilburn!

It has an outdoor pavilion, a 5,000 square foot ballroom, one of the largest newly renovated bridal suites in the Carolinas, and more to come!
